Lane6Months (3 of 52)The 7th generation of his family to live and work in the 8th District, Richard learned about hard work from his father, working construction jobs from an early age and waiting tables to help himself through college. He learned about public service from his mother, a retired Cabarrus County public school teacher.

As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Richard is working to cut federal spending, replace Obamacare with a health care system that puts patients first, and go after all sources of American energy in order to lower costs for everyone and spur job creation.
